22/11/2001 (Agence Europe) - Catherine Colonna, spokesperson for the Elysée in France, has signalled that the former French President, Valéry Giscard d'Estaing, is definitely a person with the most eminent qualities to be able to chair the upcoming Convention to prepare for the next IGC. (See EUROPE of 11 October, p.4 on Mr Giscard d'Estaing's recent speech to the European Parliament's Constitutional Affairs Committee.)
