EUR 1.8 billion for transport in Mezzogiorno (South Italy)

Brussels, 30/10/2001 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has adopted an infrastructure development programme for the Italian south, the Mezzogiorno, for 2000-2006 with a budget of EUR 4.28 billion (EUR 1.8 bn from the EU and EUR 2.479 bn from the Italian government).
