General Affairs Council approves Patten-Solana document on future role of stability pact

Luxembourg, 30/10/2001 (Agence Europe) - The General Affairs Council has welcomed the results of the Regional Stability Pact Conference in Bucharest, which confirmed the European Union's full commitment to playing a key role in the process (see EUROPE 22 October, pp 9). A common action will possibly be concluded in time for the Council of 19 November or at the very latest, for the Council of 10 December 2001, in order to achieve this objective.
