Parliament calls for the needs of poorer countries to be better into account in the fishing agreements

Strasbourg,29/10/2001 (Agence Europe) - By adopting the report of the Belgian Green MEP, Paul Lannoye, the European Parliament is effectively demanding that the European Union sign the commercial fishing agreements as soon as they are compatible both with supplying of the internal market and sustainable development of the fishing sector in developing countries party to the agreements.
