After eighteen months of negotiations, NEWS CORP, the company belonging to businessman Rupert Murdoch, finally gave up its attempt to by out HUGHES ELECTRONICS, US subsidiary of GM - GENERAL MOTORS and owner of DIRECTV, the main television satellite operator in the USA with 10.3 million subscriptions.
