GENERAL NEWS / (eu) eu/gibraltar

29/10/2001 (Agence Europe) - The United Kingdom seems to be considering joint UK/Spanish sovereignty for Gibraltar, or gradually transferring the province to Spanish rule, according to The Guardian. The paper reports that the two countries are secretly negotiating an agreement which is likely to be published by December 2002. Representatives of Gibraltar will be invited to the next round of negotiations, which are reportedly scheduled for 20 November in Barcelona.
