Loan for creation of electric power plant in Argentina

Brussels, 22/10/2001 (Agence Europe) - The European Investment Bank (EIB) has granted a loan of EUR 76 million to Central Dock Sud SA for the construction of a new gas-fired electricity generating plant in the Buenos Aires metropolitan area. It is designed to run on natural gas. The 12-year loan is guaranteed by BNP Paribas and Société Générale to 50% each. Risks of currency non-transfer, expropriation, war and civil disturbance are covered by the European Union budget...
