Brussels, 22/10/2001 (Agence Europe) - The Green and European Free Alliance (Green/EFA) Group is organising a meeting in Strasbourg on Tuesday on the fringe of the plenary session on the future of Afghanistan, with the participation of: Paul Lannoye (ecolo); Daniel Cohn-Bendit, German Green elected in France; Bart Staes (Volksunie); Philippe Morillon (French, EPP); Genieve Fraisse (French GUE); - Mehrabodin Maastan, Afghanistan's Permanent Representative to the EU; - Zalmai Haquani, advisor for international relations within the Afghan Government; - Allah Dad Luni, medical doctor and member of the Green movement of Belochistan; - Mohammad Anwar, Leader of the Pakistani MQM Party.
As for the Group of the European United Left/Nordic Green Left (GUR/NGL), it is organising a hearing in Strasbourg on Wednesday on: "Afghanistan: is war the way to fight terrorism?", with Israeli journalist Amon Kapeliouk, the Ambassador of the Arab League, Nassif Hitti, the Director of the Swedish Committee for Afghanistan in Kabul, Jan Erik Wann and Rony Braumann or another representative of Medecins sans frontieres.
