Brussels, 13/09/2001 (Agence Europe) - on Thursday, the European Commission decided, following the attacks on the United States, to repatriate its humanitarian personnel in Afghanistan, so as not to expose them to even greater risks in this delicate phase, following the attacks on the USA.
You may recall that, following the attacks, the Commissioner for Humanitarian measures, Poul Nielson decided to postpone his humanitarian mission to Afghanistan and Pakistan (see yesterday's EUROPE, p.12).
