ECB decides to reduce its rates by quarter of a point

Brussels, 30/08/2001 (Agence Europe) - The Governing Council of the European Central Bank (ECB) decided on Thursday to reduce its key rates by a quarter of a point. The main refinancing operations minimum bid (key rate) thus moves to 4.25%, against 4.50% so far, the marginal lending facility moves from 5.50% to 5.25% and the interest rate on the deposit facility is reduced from 3.50 to 3.25%.
