EP should approve improvements proposed to financial support facility for balance of payments of Member States

Brussels, 29/08/2001 (Agence Europe) - In his report on the financial support mechanism for the balance of payments of Member States, which the European Parliament will examine in Strasbourg on 5 September (consultation procedure), Generoso Andria MEP (Italian, EPP-ED) backs the Commission's proposal mainly aimed at reducing the ceiling of this Community loans facility from 16 to 12 billion euro.
