The Swedish and Japanese components manufacturers, ERICSSON and SONY, have finalised an agreement to merge their mobile phone businesses. Announced in April, the 50-50 joint venture called SONY ERICSSON MOBILE COMMUNICATIONS will employ 3,500 and have a share capital of $500 million.

VALUE OF THE EURO IN DIFFERENT CURRENCIES 29/08/2001:
