Commission and Congo Brazzaville sign cooperation programme for EUR 51.3 million

Brussels, 17/05/2001 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission and the government of the Republic of Congo (Brazzaville) have signed, this Thursday in Brazzaville, a cooperation programme of EUR 51.3 million. Taken from the leftovers of the 8th European Development Fund (EDF), this amount will finance the implementation of the national indicative programme for the Congo, whose signing had been delayed by conflicts that raged in this country between 1997 and 1999.
