The British telecommunications group CABLE AND WIRELESS has announced the acquisition of the American company DIGITAL ISLAND (Internet services for companies) for the sum of $340 million. Once the operation completed, DIGITAL ISLAND, which lost over one billion dollars over the first three months of its financial year, will become a fully owned subsidiary of the British company.
