Priorities of future Belgian European Union Presidency

Brussels, 03/05/2001 (Agence Europe) - Belgian Prime Minister Guy Verhofstadt presented to the press on Wednesday the 16 priorities of Belgium for its Presidency of the European Union, to begin on 1 July. He described the programme as "ambitious". He was accompanied by Foreign Minister Louis Michel, who presented questions relevant to his position (see EUROPE of 3 May, p.7), and Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs Annemie Neyts.
