The Swiss insurer SWISS RE and the German group GERLING are considering merging their insurance-credit activities or to closely cooperation in this sector, announced the Financial Times Deutschland. The talks cover a merger of the Dutch group NCM (annual turnover of around EUR 400 million), the insurance-credit subsidiary of SWISS RE, and GKS (annual turnover of EUR 615 million), that of GERLING.
