ECONOMIC INTERPENETRATION / (eu) banks

FORTIS INC, the American subsidiary of the Belgian-Dutch insurance banker FORTIS, has acquired CORE INC (turnover $64 million in 2000), the main replacement management services provider on the reinsurance market in the disability insurance sector. FORTIS INC is to acquire all the shares of CORE INC against the cash payment of $4.92 per share, making a total of $45 million.
