Brussels, 14/03/2001 (Agence Europe) - The EU Standing Veterinary Committee (SVC) approved, on Tuesday evening, the Commission proposal to adopt additional protection measures to reduce the risk of the spread of foot and mouth disease in the EU after the appearance in France of a first site of the disease (see yesterday's EUROPE, .8).
