Thursday, Council to try to strengthen European cooperation in crime prevention

Brussels, 14/03/2001 (Agence Europe) - On Thursday, the Justice Council will be voting on two initiatives aimed at forging closer EU-wide cooperation in terms of crime prevention, priority area for the Swedish Presidency regarding Justice.

The first initiative, aimed at setting up a network of experts mainly devoted to the prevention of juvenile and urban crime and crime linked to drugs, was proposed in December by France and Sweden. It should most likely be approved on Thursday, before...
