Strasbourg, 15/02/2001 (Agence Europe) - By adopting, through 404 in favour, 28 against and 15 abstentions, the report of Spanish Socialist Maria Izquierdo Rojo, the European Parliament called for greater support for nuts and carobs. It also adopted (341 in favour, 65 against and 38 abstentions) the report by Efstratios Korakas (Greece, GUE/NGL-KKE) by which it pleads for more aid to cotton (for the two reports, also see EUROPE of 12 February, p.16).
