France's LA POSTE is to take control of Germany's second largest group in parcels and logistics DPD - DEUTSCHE PAKETDIENST taking its current 50.6% stake to 84.6%. The cost of the transaction has not been disclosed. The companies purchased (DPD HELLMAN, DPD CORDES & SIMON, DPD ZUFALL, DPD HONOLD, DPD STRECK and DPD RHENANIA) contribute to the tune of 87% of the total turnover of the DPD GMBH network, or 623.7 million euro in 1999..
