Brussels, 08/01/2001 (Agence Europe) - European Commission President Romano Prodi is in Maghreb, for his first official visit of 2001, the principal goal of which is to give new impetus to the partnership between the European Union and the three countries on the southern banks of the Mediterranean. He will be in Tunisia on 11 January, in Algeria on the 12th and Morocco from 13 to 15 January. This is the first official visit by a Commission President to Maghreb.
