08/01/2001 (Agence Europe) - The Committee of the Regions is organising competition on the following subject: "Governing Europe: What role for the regions and cities in the EU?". The competition is open to students and researchers nationals of the European Union who finished their doctoral thesis in 2000. Registration forms may be obtained requested until 12 January, by fax, at: +32.2.2820.95. Submissions must be handed in no later than 16 February. The Committee of the Regions is awarding two prizes, one of 2000 euro and another of 1000 euro, as well as support for publication of the thesis.
