Brussels, 27/10/2000 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has authorised the French companies Alcatel and Thomson Multimedia to create a joint venture that will be active in the emerging sector of interactive video networks. As the two partners are not present in the same business sectors and their respective market shares are not very large, the Commission cleared the operation considering there would be many competitors.
