Commission grants EUR 1.9 million in emergency aid to flood victims in Vietnam and Cambodia

Brussels, 23/10/2000 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has approved funding of emergency humanitarian aid of EUR 1.9 million to the victims of recent flooding in Vietnam and Cambodia. The funds, from the ECHO (European Community Humanitarian Fund) budget, will enable the International Red Cross Federation, the United Nations Children's Fund and non-governmental organisations on the ground to implement their projects over the next six months.
