TOTALFINAELF has signed a strategic alliance with the Chilean power producer GENER. Under the terms of the deal, the French group would initially have an 80% stake in a new joint venture holding GENER's shares in the power sector in Argentina, as well as the group's investments in three power stations. TOTALFINAELF is then planning to buy 20% of GENER's capital. The two operations represent a total cost of some $ 810 million.
