Reservations of several Member States over certain aspects of European Commission plans

Brussels, 26/09/2000 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission plans concerning the creation over two years (2001 and 2002) of 717 posts, including 375 new positions, and the two year postponement of the reform of the civil servant remuneration and the pension scheme, are not to the tastes of several Member States which could block the letter of amendment to the draft 2001 budget (see EUROPE of 11 September, p.12) if the Commission does not make firm undertakings on several points.
