ECONOMIC INTERPENETRATION / (eu) paper

The Finnish paper producer UPM-KYMMENE launched a cash offer of EUR 120 million for the Canadian REPAP ENTREPRISES (turnover of EUR 425 million in 1999) at the price of 0.2 Canadian dollars per share. Furthermore it will take on the company's debt, the total cost of the operation totalling EUR 1.01 billion.
