ECONOMIC INTERPENETRATION / (eu) automobile equipment

The French group ARIES (FF 4.7 bn turnover in 1998 with a workforce of 6,000) has sold to the American automobile equipment manufacturer OXFORD AUTOMOTIVE (annual turnover of close to $1 bn, with a workforce of 5,500) ARIES MECHANISMS, its subsidiary active in mechanisms (door and bonnet hinges, sliding door systems). This sector has 7 plants in France, Italy and Turkey for a turnover of some FF 1.2 bn and a workforce of 1,400.
