Risk materials, transmission vectors and BSE to be eliminated from human and animal food chain on 1 October

Brussels, 30/06/2000 (Agence Europe) - The decision aimed at eliminating from the human and animal food chain all Specified Risk Material (SRM) - animal offal most likely to transmit the infectious agent of Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy (BSE) - was formally adopted by the European Commission and will take effect on 1 October.
