Free trade agreement enters into force on 1 July for more than two thirds of European imports and nearly half of Mexican exports in the industrial sector

Brussels, 30/06/2000 (Agence Europe) - The free trade agreement between Mexico and the European Union enters into force on Saturday 1 July for Community aspects. Services and investment-related aspects will enter into force following full ratification of the EU/Mexico Association Agreement signed in November last. Only Italy still has to ratify the accord. In the industrial sector, which accounts for nearly 93% of trade, liberalisation will be complete in 2003 for Mexican exports to the EU...
