Mr. Guterres reasserts that Austrian affair is not a theme for European Council, and underlines economic objectives

Porto, 19/06/2000 (Agence Europe) - "The summit is not to discuss Austria, but to discuss Europe: after having discussed Europe, I will do my best to find a consensus." It is thus that Antonio Guterres answered the question from the press who wanted to know if there would effectively be a Portuguese initiative in view of lifting the bilateral measures of the EU 14 against Austria.
