Loyola de Palacio to present on Wednesday a social "package" on working conditions in road transport

Brussels, 19/06/2000 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission is expected to adopt on Wednesday a communication on working conditions in road transport, drafted under the responsibility of Mrs Loyola de Palacio. It proposes legislative measures on working hours and rest periods for road hauliers, motorway controls, vocational training and employment conditions for third-country nationals (see EUROPE of 26 April, pp. 8-9).
