Danish referendum on Euro set for 28 September

Copenhagen, 10/03/2000 (Agence Europe) - The Danish Prime Minister Poul Nyrup Rasmussen announced that the referendum on Denmark's adhesion to the Euro-area will take place on the 28 September. Mr. Rasmussen said he hoped "to get a "yes"" believing that the entry into the third phase of Economic and Monetary Union is "the best thing that can happen to Denmark." The announcement was made after and emergency meeting of the Executive and parliamentarian Committee of the Social Democrat Party...
