The Dutch cable operator UPC -UNITED PAN-EUROPE COMMUNICATIONS- has offered an estimated USD 2.8 billion (or 85.14 dollars a share) for SBS BROADCASTING -SCANDINAVIAN BROADCAST SYSTEM-, a firm that operates radio and television stations, in which it already owns 23%. SBS BROADCASTING has 10 television and 17 radio stations in Central and Northern Europe.
