Böge Report supports and reinforces new regulation proposed for transmissible spongiform encephalopathies

Brussels, 14/02/2000 (Agence Europe) - On the basis of the report by Raimer Böge (EPP-ED, Germany), to be voted in plenary on Tuesday, the European Parliament Committee on Agriculture invites the plenary to approve, and at the same time strengthen, the new rules proposed by the European Commission for combating scrapie in sheep, but also - and this is the main innovation - to combat other transmissible spongiform encephalopathies (TSE) which affect sheep.
