The Belgian optical character recognition specialist IRIS - IMAGE RECOGNISTION INTEGRATED SYSTEMS (expected 2000 turnover of BEF 644 million) has taken over the French firm SEPSI (pre-interest and pre-tax profits of 600,000 euro in 1999), which presents itself as leader in electronic documents management and multilingual character recognition. The acquisition of 100% of the capital, in part through shares, amounts to some 3.6 million euro.
