The CFI confirms that "Companyline" brand name of German insurer DKV may not be registered in Alicante as it does not have a "distinctive character"

Luxembourg, 21/01/2000 (Agence Europe) - The Court of First Instance (CFI) has rejected the appeal by the German insurance company DKV against a refusal by the European Office of Trade and Design in Alicante to register a brand name, According to the CFI's Fourth Chamber, presided over by Judge Rui Manuel Gens de Moura Ramos, the Office correctly considered that the term "Companyline" "did not have a distinctive character and could not be registered as European brand".
