European Commission to publish guidelines on relationship between DMA and GDPR at end of year

The European Commission and the European Data Protection Board (EDPB) will publish joint guidelines in 2026 on the relationship between the Digital Market Regulation (DMA) and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), according to a confirmation by the European Commission in its annual report on the implementation of Regulation (EU) 2022/1925 on fair and contestable markets in the digital sector, which was published on Friday 22 May.

The final guidelines are expected to be published by the end of 2026”, a European Commission spokesperson confirmed to Agence Europe.

The annual report highlights the actions taken by the European Commission in 2025, in particular the results obtained in the context of regulatory dialogues and other measures to apply the Regulation.
