16/04/2026 (Agence Europe) – The EU Ecolabel is set to gain momentum in 2026, as welcomed by the European Commission on Thursday 16 April. By March 2026, 116,692 products and services had been labelled, supported by 3,541 licences, 97% of which were in the European Economic Area. Since September 2025, the number of certified products has risen by 7% and the number of licences by 5%. Tourist accommodation accounts for 27% of all licences, followed by hard surface cleaning products (13%), paper and tissue products (8%) and interior cleaning services (8%). Paints and varnishes account for 33% of all labelled products, ahead of paper and tissue products (18%), textiles (10%) and furniture (9%). Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) remain key contributors to the success of the EU Ecolabel. 61% of licence holders are SMEs. More details: https://aeur.eu/f/lkr (LC)
