14/04/2026 (Agence Europe) – On Tuesday 14 April, the European Commission approved a €1.3 billion German scheme designed to support owners and managers of drained peatlands who undertake to rewet their land. The aim of the scheme is to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by increasing carbon storage in peatlands, according to a press release.
