France continues to push for Europe-wide ban on social media for minors

Several EU27 heads of state or government will meet on Thursday, 16 April, for a videoconference on protecting minors online; this is being done on the initiative of France, which wishes to coordinate European action on the subject.

Along with President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen, leaders from Ireland, Italy, Spain, and the Netherlands have confirmed they will be participating.
