EU sanctions sixteen individuals and three entities responsible for human rights violations

As announced on 11 March by the High Representative of the EU (see EUROPE B13826A2), Kaja Kallas, on Monday 16 March the Council of the EU adopted restrictive measures against sixteen individuals and three entities that it considers to be responsible for serious human rights violations in Iran, particularly in connection with the repression of demonstrations in January 2026.
