On Monday 9 March, the Cyprus Presidency of the Council of the European Union announced new dates for several informal ministerial meetings originally scheduled for March, but cancelled due to the war in the Middle East.
As a result, the informal meeting of European Affairs ministers, initially scheduled for 2-3 March, will be held on 10-11 May, the meeting of Culture ministers (5-6 March) will be held on 1-2 June, the informal ‘Defence’ meeting of 11-12 March will finally take place on 7 and 8 June, the meeting of Economic and Financial Affairs ministers and central bank governors (Ecofin) will be held on 22 and 23 May instead of 27 and 28 March and the informal ‘Telecommunications’ meeting on 29 and 30 April instead of 23 and 24 March.
In addition, the informal meeting of Research and Innovation ministers on 31 March will be held by videoconference, and the meeting of cohesion policy ministers on 21 and 22 May will take place on 4 and 5 June.
