18/02/2026 (Agence Europe) – In a statement on 17 February, 85 countries, including 22 Member States (all except Bulgaria, Croatia, Hungary, Romania and the Czech Republic), the European Union, the League of Arab States and the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation “strongly” condemned Israeli decisions and unilateral measures “aimed at expanding Israel’s unlawful presence” in the West Bank. “Such decisions are contrary to Israel’s obligations under international law and must be immediately reversed”, they stressed, reaffirming their “strong opposition” to any form of annexation. They reaffirmed their commitment to taking concrete steps to contribute to the realisation of the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination and to combat the policy of illegal settlement in the occupied Palestinian territory, including East Jerusalem, as well as the policies and threats of forced displacement and annexation.
