11/02/2026 (Agence Europe) – On Wednesday 11 February, the European Commission launched a public consultation and a call for evidence on a possible revision of the Shareholder Rights Directive (SRD). The aim is to gather the opinions of companies, investors and shareholders in order to identify the obstacles to cross-border investment and to examine how to modernise these rules in the light of technological and market developments. Open for 12 weeks, until Wednesday 6 May, this initiative is part of the Savings and Investment Union strategy to strengthen the integration of EU capital markets.
