11/02/2026 (Agence Europe) – By a very large majority (593 votes in favour, 55 against and 9 abstentions), MEPs convened in plenary session of the European Parliament in Strasbourg on Wednesday 11 February approved a resolution to release €7.5 million from the European Globalisation Adjustment Fund (EGF) for displaced workers, to help employees affected by the closure of Audi’s Brussels plant a year ago. According to Parliament, relocation to China and Mexico has left 3,414 people unemployed. 85% of the €8.8 million support package will be funded by the EU for retraining, job search assistance, training in new skills and support for workers wishing to set up their own business. The Belgian regional public employment services will finance the remaining €1.3 million. The text: https://aeur.eu/f/kov (NP)
