11/02/2026 (Agence Europe) – On Wednesday 11 February, the European Parliament opposed the renewal of EU authorisation for two varieties of genetically modified cotton. For example, Parliament raised objections to two European Commission decisions renewing marketing authorisations for products containing: - genetically modified cotton GHB614 × LLCotton25 (463 votes in favour of the objection, 164 against and 21 abstentions); - genetically modified cotton T304-40 (428 votes in favour, 156 against and 22 abstentions). The Parliament also opposed the marketing of products containing: - genetically modified soya DBN-09004-6 (461 votes in favour of the objection, 169 against and 22 abstentions); - genetically modified maize T25 (462 votes in favour, 169 against and 22 abstentions).
