Brussels, 10/02/2026 (Agence Europe) – Contrary to what we wrote (see EUROPE 13802/17), members of the European Committee of the Regions (CoR) are not supportive of the initial proposal concerning the system of funding based on achieving objectives rather than reimbursing expenses; however, they wished to prevent any future confusion, since this new system may prove to be more complex in certain respects and may lead to a risk of increasing controls and administrative formalities. This is why they have urged the European Commission to provide the public officials who will be required to implement the new performance framework with EU-wide training and technical assistance. (AD)
