Brussels, 10/02/2026 (Agence Europe) – At the European Parliament plenary session on Tuesday 10 February, MEPs adopted a resolution drafted by Johan Van Overtveldt (ECR, Belgian) on the activities of the European Central Bank in the year 2025 (see EUROPE 13804/15), with 443 votes in favour, 71 against and 117 abstentions. Amendments 40 and 41, which had been tabled by numerous MEPs from the Renew Europe and Greens/EFA political groups with the aim of strengthening the European Parliament’s support for the digital euro project, were approved. The final text adopted on Tuesday stresses the need for the Frankfurt-based institution to remain free of political pressure in its primary task of maintaining price stability in the euro area.
